There's always an ebb and flow to Brian Azzarello's Wonder Woman saga. With issue #29 wrapping up the previous arc in a big way, the time has come for a quieter, more introspective issue to follow. That might be a downer with some writers, but not Azzarello. Here, Azzarello takes advantage of the fact that the Amazons are finally back in commission, exploring the growing dissension among their ranks and Diana's struggle to assert herself as their new queen. This issue is a subtle showcase for how well Azzarello understands his heroine. She's powerful, loving, progressive, and always looking to do the right thing, even if the path ahead isn't always clear.
