Secrets of the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Last summer I flew down to New Orleans to visit the set of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Fox’s sequel to 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The day I was there (along with several other outlets), the production had transformed several blocks of the city’s downtown area into a post-apocalyptic wasteland version of San Francisco. What hath the Simian Flu wrought?!


Well, it wrought a Planet of the Apes, of course. Or at least, a planet in transformation, as the remnants of mankind (still reeling from that plague unleashed at the end of Rise) struggle to survive in the city even while the sentient ape Caesar leads his fellow simians in an ever-growing community in the forests north of San Fran. But how long can they go before the two groups clash?
