Chris Claremont has returned to the X-Men franchise a number of times since wrapping up his legendary 17-year run in 1991. And for various reasons, the old magic has never quite been rekindled. But that's not to say his contemporary work has been without merit. The main element his better stories in recent years seem to share is a smaller, more intimate focus on one specific area of the X-Men franchise. And that's something his latest ongoing project, Nightcrawler, definitely shares.
