Mojang announced today that boxed copies of Minecraft for PlayStation 3 will be available at retailers May 16.
Owen Hill, of Mojang, revealed the retail disc information for Minecraft PlayStation 3 Edition on the PlayStation Blog. "It comes with all the features you’d expect from the console versions of Minecraft, along with everything that came with update 14, including emeralds, Ender Chests, potatoes, and more," Hill said.
According to Hill, more than 1.5 million copies of Minecraft on PlayStation 3 have been sold via the PlayStation Store, which became available as a downloadable title late last year. Earlier this year, Mojang announced sales of the PlayStation 3 edition of Minecraft at over 1 million copies.
