Vita isn’t exactly hurting for JRPGs these days, but a significant one – Bandai Namco’s Tales of Hearts – looks like it’s meandering its way west, if GameStop’s website is any indication.
Tales of Hearts originally launched on Nintendo DS in Japan in 2008, and saw a rerelease in 2012 on Vita in the form of Tales of Hearts R. It looks like it’s the latter that we’re getting in the west. The game revolves around two characters – the titular Amber Hearts and Shing Meteoryte – as they do battle with mystical beasts known as Zerom.
The Tales series has (re-)risen to prominence in the west in recent years, with the release of both the great Tales of Xillia and the throwback Tales of Symphonia Chronicles on PlayStation 3 over the last year. Tales of Xillia 2, also on PS3, is on the horizon, as is an all-new entry, Tales of Zestiria, the first Tales game set for simultaneous worldwide release.
