Iron Fist: The Living Weapon #1 takes a lot of chances. It casts the title's lead character in a not-so-good light. Danny Rand is troubled, troubled to the point of being broken. He's a shell of a man who prefers bitter violence to human contact. This, combined with a somewhat familiar setup, could easily have made for a somewhat dull read. Fortunately, with a master like Kaare Andrews handling the book, Iron Fist manages to be not just interesting, but pretty damn spectacular.
