Clockwork Empires isn't the City-Building Sim I Expected

Clockwork Empires started the same way I expect most city-building simulators to start. The interface looked old, like classic PC games from my childhood. My tiny people had nothing, but there were trees to chop and plants to harvest. I never expected an attack from fish people...


The developers of Gaslamp Games, creators of Dungeons of Dredmor, don't want to make a "traditional city builder." Micro-management, for example, isn't a big focus; just decide which buildings you want to make, what you want to put inside them, and some of your people will get it done. It feels a bit more "hands off," which I liked for a change.
