Comedy legend Harold Ramis passed away yesterday. He meant a lot of many members of the IGN community, but he also had a huge influence on the lives of IGN editors, as well. Below are some of our Harold Ramis moments that we remember most fondly.
While my list of favorite Ramis movie moments could go on for pages -- Meatballs is one of my earliest in-theater movie memories -- I have to mention the time I actually met the guy while he was shooting his last feature, Year One. I was on the set with a bunch of other movie bloggers, and since we were supposed to be extras for the day, we were outfitted with biblical era costumes and given the full hair and makeup treatment. But the film’s schedule shifted, and we never actually got on camera… but we still had the chance to interview the comedy legend. And we did so while dressed in ancient-style robes and headwear, freezing our butts off the whole time! Oh, and I couldn’t help but notice that between takes and camera set-ups, Ramis just chilled out and played his guitar off to the side. It was awesome. - Scott Collura
