Usually I'm more a fan of inter-universe crossovers in theory than practice, as most of them wind up being dull, formulaic variations on the same theme. But DC Universe vs. Masters of the Universe got off to a great start last month, scratching that fanboy itch while still managing to tell a compelling story. Two questions remain with this series, however. The first is how well the conflict would hold up once the Justice League entered the fray, rather than just John Constantine and his ilk. The other is whether the story can hold up despite the fact that Tony Bedard has abruptly taken over scripting duties from Keith Giffen (that seems to be a habit with the MotU franchise now). Fortunately, the answer to both questions appears to be a firm "Yes."
