Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
I need to keep this review short, so let's get right to it!
Monroe isn't dead, right? He can't be. If he was, it would feel really anticlimactic and like a wasted opportunity, given how much his relationships are shifting with everyone else. And if he was to die, they'd treat it with more weight than we got - it would truly be the end of the episode or we'd see much more of the fallout. So I assume he'll be back, which takes away from a lot of how things played out here.
However, there was a lot of good material involving him before that. Miles getting just exasperated more than anything at seeing a dead Patriot Monroe killed was funny and the flashbacks did a good job of showing the dramatically different dynamic these two once had - even though it did involve Monroe just completely snapping and becoming a cold-hearted thief and murderer in the wake of losing the woman he loved and their child. I also want to note how good David Lyons was in this episode and this season in general, as he seems to really be finding his groove with this far more interesting incarnation of Monroe. The inclusion of Neville in the flashbacks, however brief, was good to see as well - some connective tissue while Neville's storyline is so separate from everyone else.
