The long-rumored Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly been confirmed as Quicksilver in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The Wrap reports that the Kick-Ass star has worked out his schedule and closed his deal with Marvel to play Pietro Maximoff, a.k.a. the speedster Quicksilver in Marvel’s Avengers sequel.
Of course, Latino Review reported the casting earlier this month, and we’d been hearing chatter about it since the summer from The Wrap. But the site says Taylor-Johnson just closed his deal today. The reason for the delay? Age of Ultron’s shooting schedule conflicts with the publicity tour for the Godzilla reboot, which the actor also stars in. But those pesky details have apparently been smoothed over now. (Hey, that’s what the red-eye is for, Aaron.)
