In Red Sonja #8, everyone's favorite sword-wielding she-devil continues her quest to round up a handful of insanely talented individuals for the emperor's big fiesta. But, as with most things in life, the journey isn't an easy one. Writer Gail Simone and artist Walter Geovani take Sonja on a rollicking adventure that includes lions, tigers, bears, and an itch that goes unscratched. That last one is a euphemism.
The issue picks up where we left off, with Sonja and Gribaldi the cook on the road. Any good journey brings with it moments of self-discovery, and, to her dismay, Sonja discovers that there might be a direct correlation between her sex appeal and her body odor. Simone puts forth some of the funniest pages in comics this week as Sonja learns that when the latter is unpleasant, the former can only get you so far.
