Batman and Aquaman #29 Review

Batman and Aquaman #29 by Peter J. Tomasi marks the first issue of The Hunt for Robin storyline. It also marks the return of a rotating cast of guest-stars. This time out, Arthur Curry is lined up to assist the Dark Knight with his bad guy bashing and Damian hunting. The result is an issue with action as unrelenting as Batman himself, and more than one shocking moment.

From the start, this issue is full of non-stop action and exciting and energetic fight sequences. Patrick Gleason illustrates his characters with such power and strength that it’s hard not to pump your fist in the air when looking at his action scenes. However, his design work is quite exceptional as well. Batman’s underwater vehicle of choice is immense fun and it is striking in design and color, too. John Kalisz can be thanked for said color, which shines through brilliantly in this issue whether under water or above.
