Doc Savage Returns in New Ongoing Series

Pulp icon and soon-to-be-Shane Blacked character Doc Savage is finally returning to the world of comics for the first time since his last series ended in 2011. Dynamite Entertainment, publisher of other pulp legends like The Shadow and The Phantom, have acquired publishing rights to the character and today announced a new ongoing series written by Chris Roberson with art by Bilquis Evely and covers by Alex Ross.


In an interview with CBR, Roberson explained his plans to explore the history of the character, "This is a big story that we're telling in these first eight issues, starting in 1933 at the point where readers were first introduced to Doc Savage, and continuing on through the years to the present day. Just because the Doc Savage Magazine ended publication in the late '40s didn't mean that Doc's adventures ended there. He kept on going, and in this storyline we'll see what happened."
