Full Bat-spoilers follow.
So Tatsu finally got her costume and officially took a codename this week, and fortunately both were pretty reasonable considering the nature of her character. After a ridiculous (and quite funny) attempt by Batman to keep his new sidekick safe with a uniform consisting entirely of huge, round, red padding, Tatsu decides on a much simpler approach: a classic domino mask. It suits her.
As for her codename, she also takes the direct route. Tatsu keeps her League of Assassins name, Katana, so that when the eventual rematch with her old teammates happens, they'll know exactly who it is that is kicking their asses. Makes sense.
The newest member of the Bat-family's somewhat lighter attitude and approach is welcome ("See, that was me trying to lift a finger."), and it's perhaps also needed to offset the more dour Batman. She's really trying to make the still tentative partnership work, albeit without betraying her own methods and beliefs, but is she trying too hard at times? It's great seeing Katana crack a joke or a smile here and there, but I do hope she continues to bust Bruce's chops as well.
