MTV's Scream Pilot Casts Teens for Slaughter

After four meta/massacre-filled movies, we found out over a year ago that Scream was headed to TV in the form of a one-hour pilot for MTV - with its intent being to "reinvent" the successful horror comedy franchise.


The only elements from the original films we now know to be in place for the adaptation is the "mystery" Ghostface killer, or killers, the small town with secrets, and the teens being set up for slaughter. The overall tone, and whether or not it will go meta with "scary movie rules," is still unknown.


But, according to TVLine, MTV has cast the lead roles for their Scream, starting with Willa Fitzgerald (Royal Pains) as Emma - a "classic beauty whose popularity actually masks a natural shyness and intellectual nature" - and Amy Forsyth (Defiance) as Audrey - Emma's estranged friend and the "daughter of a Lutheran pastor and an artsy loner/aspiring filmmaker."
