Defiance: Season 2 Finale Review

Defiance has been taking advantage of the absence of Dominion these past two weeks. The show closed out its second season with another batch of two episodes as the running conflict with Irzu/the Kaziri came to a head and Defiance faced certain annihilation. As with last week, it's probably just as well Syfy doubled up on the show, as the two halves might not have been enough on their own.


I'm only focusing on the actual season finale in this review, which is actually a bit difficult since "All Things Must Pass" flowed so seamlessly into "I Almost Prayed." The finale opened on quite the dark note. Tommy died as a result of Irisa's stabbing, leaving Nolan distraught and all the more hellbent on stopping the Kaziri's destruction of the planet. And Irisa got her hands bloody in the opening moments as she guided the total obliteration of New York City. That scene certainly set the tone for the coming conflict.
