Defense Grid 2 will be released on September 23, Hidden Path Entertainment announced today.
The sequel to 2008's tower defense game Defense Grid: The Awakening will be available as a digital download on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It's currently available to pre-order on Steam for 10% off, at $22.50 USD. This price includes immediate beta access for Windows users.
Defense Grid 2 introduces 21 maps containing new threats, and new game modes such as online PVP and multiplayer co-op are being added alongside the single-player campaign. It also introduces players to DG Architect, a level-creation toolset integrated with the Steam Workshop.
