Splatter Pedestrians Again in Carmageddon: Reincarnation

Long before Grand Theft Auto III made it socially tolerable (I won’t go so far as to say “acceptable”) to run over video game bystanders in a vehicle, Carmageddon was pounding peds into the pavement for points and laughs. The 1997 original turned the racing genre on its ear by letting you actually turn the citizens of its fictional world on their ears, while the 1998 sequel, Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now, took the vehicular manslaughter into an open world. Both games were banned or censored in half of Europe in the process.


And then original developer Stainless Games had the series taken away from them by their publisher, after which an unspoken-of sequel and years of cobwebs took their toll…
