HBO's Game of Thrones features sweeping landscapes and gorgeous backgrounds. The series already films in locations such as Iceland, Northern Ireland, and Croatia, and now Spain will be added to the list for Season 5. Specifically, shooting will happen in natural locations in the Province of Sevilla.
In their press release, HBO didn't specifically state which part of Westeros Spain will represent, but multiple reports have said it will be Dorne. Game of Thrones executive producers and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have confirmed we'll be seeing Dorne, the home of Oberyn Martell, next season. In A Song of Ice and Fire, Dorne is described as rocky, mountainous, arid, and dry. The Andalusia region could easily stand in for that.
