This story arc was a notable one from a production standpoint, since it was actually originally produced for Season 5, before the decision was made to hold it for Season 6. In fact, I remember seeing footage from it at Star Wars Celebration VI back in the summer of 2012. The one big tipoff to this comes from the voice cast, as the late, great Ian Abercrombie still voices Palpatine here, not Tim Curry, who took over the role after Abercrombie’s death.
