Person of Interest: "Allegiance" Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...


"Allegiance" was mostly a shift back to POI's "Case of the Week" blueprint, though with the added benefit of the case majorly tying into the big endgame arc of the season. Still, that reveal wasn't made clear until the very end, leaving the rest of the episode feeling, well, adequate. Good stuff, but not in any superlative sense.


The Root stuff, which bookended the episode, was fantastic however - as most Root-related scenes are these days. And her cat and mouse game with Greer (who we eventually discovered was in town to close off some ties regarding the stolen generators needed to power Samaritan) was great fun. The way he evaded her by shutting off her sight, sound relay, and GPS tracking was clever, but not as clever as Root borrowing Bear to hunt the man down the old fashion bloodhound way. Yes, the naughty dog who could find his treats hidden behind Moliere was able to find Greer in a crowded subway tunnel with ease.
