If you’re looking for an Avengers book for the winter holiday, then Avengers Annual #1 has got you covered. This oversized issue features a light-hearted story about a young super-powered girl named Zamira who stays behind after a fieldtrip to Avengers tower on Christmas eve. There’s also a touching subplot about Captain America visiting a retirement home, although its sad tone feels at odds with the silly main narrative where we see Iron Man and Hulk get caught in a wave of purple foam. Still, if you’re in the mood for a feel-good comic with some art that’s fun to look at, then throw down the five bucks to pick this baby up.
