While there have been several versions of Washington Irving’s classic story before, FOX’s new Sleepy Hollow certainly is giving audiences a different take on the tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. The show moving Crane’s background to the American Revolution, where he fights for George Washington, is just the beginning – as the brunt of the story takes place in the modern era, where a miraculously revived Crane (Tom Mison) teams with Sheriff Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) to face the also-returned threat of the Headless Horseman… and much more.
The co-creators and executive producers of Sleepy Hollow are Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, whose incredibly busy resume includes writing the two most recent Star Trek films (with them set to return for the third) and next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, along with TV work like the recently-ended Fringe and Hawaii Five-0, which is itself returning for Season 4 this fall.
