Paramount is now planning to shift the release of Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, from November 17 to a later date, potentially next year.
THR says that Scorsese's cut of the film is currently 180 minutes long, and that he's in discussions with his producers about how to shorten the run-time. The studio is hoping to only delay the film until Christmas so that it may still be a contender in this year's Oscar race.
Should Wolf be ready for the holiday season, Paramount will then push back the release of Kenneth Branagh's Jack Ryan, starring Chris Pine, from Christmas Day to January 17, giving Wolf the Christmas opening.
