Another new villain entered the Beware the Batman world in the latest episode, "Control," and his creepiness and puppet-master powers helped to make up for some of the shortcomings of the rest of the segment.
I can't say that I recall Cypher from the comics… I guess there was Victor Cypher, but this cyborg take on the character seems completely different from what I can tell. Whatever the case, he's very sci-fi for the League of Assassins, for whom he works, with his mind-controlling, tentacle-like, neon appendages that call back to The Day of the Triffids and Starship Troopers (though their effect is not at all gruesome like the latter film's brain-sucking bugs).
