Killzone: Shadow Fall fans tired of thwarting the Helghast threat on their own will want to enlist for Killzone: Intercept, a four-player, co-op-focused expansion landing next month. As its subtitle suggests, the DLC mode tasks a team of four VSA squad mates with intercepting intel being transmitted by the bright-eyed baddies.
Don’t let that mundane-sounding objective fool you; despite having to hack and hold capture points, the experience is much more about engaging in epic firefights than burning through firewalls—this is still KIllzone, after all. Establishing and maintaining an uplink to three beacons spread across the map isn’t easy, but Intercept introduces four fresh character classes—Medic, Marksman, Tactician, and Assault— capable of handling the job; that is, according to lead designer Arjan Bak, if they work as a team. “They all have their own job and must work together,” he explained. “If they don’t, they’ll have a hard time…it’s all about teamwork.”
