Warner Bros. is doubling down on its plan to expand on the success of The LEGO Movie. Plus, they want the franchise to be on par with their DC Comics and J.K. Rowling film properties.
While announcing Time Warner’s first quarter earnings on a conference call, CEO Jeffrey Bewkes indicated that the company’s success in its film arm could be attributed to The LEGO Movie’s global appeal, which merits the “continued development of franchise films.” A sequel to The LEGO Movie is already in the works.
