The 100: "His Sister’s Keeper" Review

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.


The Ark characters all sat this one out (even the flashbacks on the Ark didn’t contain Jaha, Abby or Kane), but given the weight of what happened up there last week, it felt appropriate to, well, give them some time – even as we ponder what they’re doing about those flares sent by the kids on the Earth.


While "Earth Kills" did something similar, this episode of The 100 had a very Lost-style structure to it, as we followed the current situation on the island Earth while we flashbacked to the origins of two characters who took center stage this week, Bellamy and Octavia. Bellamy has been an increasingly intriguing, ambiguous presence on the show, though I’ve had less of a handle on Octavia. However, there was a lot of nice material for both of them here. There was some clever moments in those flashbacks, such as the fact that Bellamy named Octavia because that was the name of Emperor Augustus’ sister – hinting that even at a young age, Bellamy could see himself in charge.
