Secret Origins #1 stems from the concept of exploring the origins DC’s characters one issue at a time. However, some fans might find it redundant in the wake of events like Zero Month. What will mark the success this series will probably be how well it explores the origins of these characters, and whether or not it manages to say something new or useful about them. The first issue manages to do some of that, but while this might work for readers unfamiliar with these characters or their new histories, it might end up feeling like a rehash for those who are already informed.
