Just when it seemed like "Most Likely To..." was spiraling into a tonal mess, having left behind an explosive Vigilance-related opening scene for a joke-heavy undercover job at a high school reunion, Vigilance reared their vigilent heads at the reunion, forcing Reese and Shaw to deal with the patrio-terrorists while also trying to solve a mystery of a decades-old prom night death. So not everything felt balanced here, but the fact that Vigilance played a crucial role in both stories punched everything up greatly.
Granted, Vigilance only showed up to the reunion because Root leaked Reese and Shaw's whereabouts - part of her attempt to zero in on their communications, which then helped her save Finch and Fusco from Collier at the end. So she sort of treated the two mercs like sacrificial lambs, though with the confidence that they'd have a better-than-average chance of coming out on top. The Root stuff was rad (like always) as not only did we learn that she now goes by FBI Agent Augusta King, but in the end The Machine diverted all the Northern Lights numbers into her head - filling up her dance card as she gleefully put it.
