Black Box: Series Premiere Review

Advance Review: Wow.


I mean... Wow, you guys. This is horrible.


Normally, I'd start off a review by just giving you the basics. As in "ABC's new cerebral-centric Black Box stars Kelly Reilly (the Sherlock Holmes films) as a famous neuroscientist, Catherine Black, who's fascinated by abnormal human minds because she herself suffers from bipolar disorder." Then I'd list some of the other actors in the project. Like Vanessa Redgrave playing Catherine's psychiatrist. Or Ditch Davey (there's a name!) as the absurdly alpha-male brain surgeon, Dr Bickman.


But I'm afraid I can't keep it that formal. This is terrible television. And I know that when something's this bad there's a small segment of the populous that hopes that maybe it's one of those "it's so bad it's good" projects. But no. It's so bad that it's just... really really bad. Like "punch your giant-screen Samsung" bad.
