The Walking Dead: “Alone” Review

Daryl and Beth felt like a peculiar pairing initially. Tyresse and the girls made sense as a group that was ripe for conflict, particularly once they’d run into Carol. Michonne’s connection with the boy makes her a logical choice to find and reunite with Rick and Carl. Maggie, Bob, and Sasha’s dynamic has yet to be fully revealed, but I have some suspicions about why they’ve landed together. Glenn and - the somewhat surprisingly still in play - Tara are acting as our entry point to Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, and this possible cure for global annihilation.


When everyone scattered after the destruction of the prison, the most notably odd couple was brooding survivalist, and squirrel massacring Mr. Dixon teamed with the more singy and less stabby of the Greene sisters, Beth. “Is the show trying to ‘ship these two?” many of us asked ourselves. If it wasn’t a romantic interaction they were heading toward, then it seemed that we’d be treated to an endless stream of Daryl getting Beth out of one scrape or another until they’d reunited with the others; and at first, that’s exactly what happened.
