French actor Omar Sy has been gaining steam since his overseas hit The Intouchables and his being cast in X-Men: Days of Future Past as Bishop. And now, Sy has joined the cast of the Steven Spielberg-produced Jurassic World.
Sy announced his casting in the film on Twitter (in French), saying that he was a “fan of the saga from the beginning” and is “very proud to be a part of the cast of Jurassic World.” His role has not yet been revealed.
Director and screenwriter Colin Trevorrow commented on the casting via Twitter too, saying (in French, as well) that he was “very happy to welcome” Sy to the project.
Sy joins Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan, and B.D. Wong, returning as Dr. Henry Wu from the original film.
