It's often said that the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. By that logic, one could argue there's a little crazy going around the Marvel offices these days. Marvel's previous attempt at launching a new ongoing Ghost Rider series wasn't very successful. They shook up the formula by replacing mainstays Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch with a new female Ghost Rider, but that didn't save the series from a swift cancellation. And with All-New Ghost Rider taking a similar approach by introducing another new heir to the Ghost Rider mantle, will this volume be any more successful than the last?
I can't say whether All-New Ghost Rider will be financially successful, as there's often no accounting for good taste in this marketplace. But the series does seem to have all the right ingredients in place right out of the gate. It offers a fresh start for the franchise, backed by a winning creative team and a unique sense of style.
