Note: Full spoilers for Sons of Anarchy Season 6 follow.
Sons of Anarchy’s intricate plotting paid off once again in Season 6 with storylines that had been building not just in this season but from previous years all coming to a head. Looking back on the season as a whole, it is one of those shows that improves when the entire run of episodes is taken into account. The compelling characters and shocking twists and turns kept us on the edge of our seats and anxious to see what happens next.
A ton of things happened over the course of thirteen episodes, but the most striking had to be the loss of two major characters. Sons of Anarchy will always be a show with a high body count, but it was clear creator Kurt Sutter was not messing around when he decided to kill off both Clay and Tara in the same year. Clay’s death had been coming for more than just this past season, but the impact when it happened was still huge. The performances from Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam were powerful as Clay accepted his fate and Jax calmly carried it out. The episode, “Aon Rud Persanta”, was a high point of the season as it also revealed Jax’s plans for Gaalan (Timothy V. Murphy), who had developed into a formidable villain over the course of the season, responsible for the death of several members of the club as well as blowing up the clubhouse.
