Admittedly, saying that a Walt Simonson comic looks great is kind of like casually observing that the sky is blue or that Chipotle is definitively better than its competitors. Duh. Of course it is, we all know that. Nonetheless, this review has gotta open with the observation that Ragnarok #1 is a gorgeous comic book. Seeing Simonson revisit and reinterpret the world of Norse mythology is such a treat. It’s one of the best-looking books on the shelves this week by a long shot. Some artists wane with age. Simonson just gets better.
