Activision Speaks About Cancelled Destiny Pre-Orders

Activision has given a statement on the cancelled pre-orders of Destiny: Ghost Edition.

"The incredible demand for Ghost Edition has exceeded even our high expectations," says Byron Beede, VP of Destiny product management. "We made as many as we could, and in collaboration with Bungie, we always wanted it to remain truly limited."

Last night, Walmart had begun sending emails out to unlucky customers who had pre-purchased the $150 USD Ghost Edition for PS4, instead offering them the less-coveted $100 Limited Edition along with a partial refund.

When asked whether pre-orders are likely to be cancelled at other retailers, Beede says, "Individual retailers have the best knowledge of whether any are still available at their store."
