Charles Soule is unstoppable. The guy is writing, what, fifty books? And they’re all this good, if you can believe it. The very idea of a Superman/Wonder Woman power couple/romance comic is extremely volatile, yet Soule has honed it to be as sharp as Wonder Woman’s sword. This issue makes use of the couple’s supporting cast, including Relationship Advice Batman and Ex-Boyfriend Steve Trevor, which winds up being just as juicy as it sounds. Plus, Soule has an underlying sense of drama as he makes our heroes confront two of their true fears: Superman must deal with malfunctioning powers while Wonder Woman has to face the horror of Christmas shopping.
