Ever since E3, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has been generating more and more buzz around the IGN office. It’s done so almost entirely based on its intriguing Nemesis system and associated game mechanics. Those of us who are fans of the lore of The Lord of the Rings now have another reason to be excited about the game – the story. At San Diego Comic Con, the team behind the game revealed a new story trailer that contains loads of surprises, the two biggest of which are that Celebrimbor, forger of the Rings, is the wraith aiding Talion, and that Gollum will aid Talion in his quest.
We recently had the opportunity to talk with Mike De Platter, Director of Design at Monolith Productions, about the new story elements, how they fit into the lore, and whether or not you can accomplish good through evil means.
