Developer Insomniac Games showed off the wide variety of character customization options available in Sunset Overdrive at San Diego Comic-Con this week, focusing on how these choices improve the Xbox One exclusive.
Creative director Marcus Smith, game director Drew Murray, and art director Jacinda Chew spoke about how the studio wanted to mix up all sorts of different fashion trends to allow players to outfit their characters in weird ways. But that was challenging, until Chew broke the fashions down into three separate categories: mainstream, street (emo and goth), and costume.
"Diversity was very important to me, because it is all about player choice and being who you want to be," Chew said. "And I think it definitely makes our game stand apart from other games."
