At the Orlando location of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights this year, you can visit Raccoon City and all the horrors within via the new Resident Evil maze. During my visit to Horror Nights' opening night this past weekend, Mike Aiello, HHN’s entertainment creative director, explained the conception of the maze, noting, “I’m a huge Resident Evil fan. I’ve played all the games. It’s such a brilliant franchise. We wanted to give it this kind of retro feel, so we based it on games 2 and 3. We knew that Nemesis was a big boss in the Resident Evil franchise, so it was fun for us
. Yes, there are zombies in this space, but their textures are completely different then, say, The Walking Dead. We’ve got creatures in this maze. Nemesis is 12 feet in the air, firing his Gatling gun at the guests as they’re walking through.”
