Insurgency will give you a quick death if that's the kind of first-person shooter you're looking for.
Inspired by the classic World War II shooter Day of Defeat, Insurgency places a big emphasis on cover, positioning, and teamwork. Bullets are powerful. It originally released as a source engine mod in 2007, but co-creator Jeremy Blum and his team at New World Interactive are prepping a new version for a standalone release.
Blum dropped by the office to demo Insurgency’s versus multiplayer. We only got to see a few different levels and combat scenarios, but it looks like it’s staying true to its hardcore roots.
Check out the video in this article for gameplay and discussion of weapons, game modes, classes, and proximity voice chat. In the coming days, we'll have video of the brand new co-op mode as well.
