Oculus VR, the company developing the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, has raised $75 million in Series B additional funding, which will finalize the creation of the project.
The secondary funding round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, a firm known for its past support of companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb,Jawbone and Skype. Marc Andreesen, co-founder of the firm, will sit on Oculus VR's board of directors.
“We believe Oculus will not only alter the gaming landscape, but will redefine fundamental human experiences in areas like film, education, architecture, and design," Andreessen said in an Oculus press statement. "Oculus is at the tip of the iceberg of its potential, and we're incredibly excited to help them change the world."
