The Australian Classification Review Board has upheld the MA15+ classification for all 12 of the games South Australian Attorney-General John Rau requested reviews for in November.
After applying the Guidelines for the Classification of Computer Games, the same used by the Classification Board, the Review Board did not see fit to reclassify any of the games.
Australia’s Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA) has welcomed the decisions handed down by the Classification Review Board and maintains the review imposed by the South Australian Attorney General and the Australian Council on Children and the Media (ACCM) was unwarranted, costly and only served to confirm the Classification Board’s ability to accurately apply the classification guidelines.
