Warner Bros. is developing a new animated movie based on intrepid spectral demystifier (and dog) Scooby-Doo, according to Variety.
The project is being overseen by producer Charles Roven, who recently worked on Man of Steel and Dark Knight Rises, and will be working on the fothcoming Batman vs. Superman film starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.
But before he got caught up in the world of DC superheroes, Roven worked with fellow producer Richard Suckle on the 2002 live-action adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon, which first aired back in 1969. The two live-action films, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Matthew Lillard, took a combine total of $455 million, but the franchise has remained dormant on the big screen since 2004's Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
