After reading several Infinity tie-ins where the event itself was barely a backdrop, it's refreshing to see at least one book that dives headlong into the intergalactic fracas. Avengers Assemble #18 essentially covers the same ground as Avengers #18 in depicting the opening battle between the Galactic Council and the Builders. But Kelly Sue DeConnick narrows the focus so that it becomes a story about Spider-Woman and her current emotional baggage. The results don't make for an essential tie-in by any means, but fans of DeConnick's handling of Spider-Woman should be pleased.
