Single carb dooley scoop mount question

I have a single 4500 dooley scoop that I want to mount without an air cleaner/spark arrester. I would like to mount it without drilling all the way through the top of the scoop. I could use aluminum flat strap, or small angle, but I was wondering if anyone had pics of a cleaner set up?

Also...I have seen scoops pinned through the top of the carb to keep the scoop from spinning, but I'm running a demon 1195 and the edge of the carb is rounded and thick, which would make that difficult.
