Today at Sony's Gamescom 2013 press conference Dear Esther developer The Chinese Room revealed its Playstation 4 project Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Not much was announced, but it's pretty clear from the name and the apocalyptic imagery that the game will address nothing less than... the end of the world.
The game, developed using Crytek's CryEngine 3, appears to take place in the mid 1980s. A variety of ominous imagery, most notably a full solar eclipse, set a considerably bleak tone.
The short teaser closed with the tagline "This story begins with the end of the world" - just in case the game's title and the video's tone hadn't already tipped people off.
