V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin director James McTeigue will direct a remake of Bloodsport for Relativity Media and producer Edward R. Pressman.
Taken's Robert Mark Kamen scripted earlier drafts of the redo of the 1988 cult classic starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
McTeigue will reportedly supervise Craig Rosenberg's rewrite.
"The new film, which has not been cast, will explore the life of 21st century mercenaries as they collide with the underground world of Brazilian Vale Tudo fighting," reports Variety.
